Hard Drive Replacement (Scheduled)
Affecting Server - Cpanel | Priority - Critical
over the past few days, our technicians have noticed that one of the hard drives that stores critical customer data has been over heating.
When this problem began, we began discussing ways to resolve this issue with minnimal impact, to you, the customer.
We started by having the cooling system replaced on saturday night, October 24th, however, this didn't appear to fix the issue.
We continued preventative measures throughout the weekend, and after some discussion with our provider, it was determined the only course of action would be to replace the hard drive as it was failing.
During the window listed above, the server will be offline while the following actions are taken:
*all data on the effected drive is backed up
*the defective drive removed and knew drive installed.
*hardware testing to ensure no heat problems persist after this fact
*all data restored to the knew drive
We have scheduled a longer timeline than what we expect the outage to take, as we figure that it's better to give more time then not enough time in the event of any problems.
Please, if you are a reseller with us, inform your customers of this outage.
Also note we will have all techs on hand to expidite the restoration of services once the server comes back online.
